Please complete the registration form below.
The Recreation & Parks Association of Nunavut (RPAN) is pleased to once again be hosting the Winter Youth Program staff training program in 2025. Our Winter Youth Program has grown from five communities in our pilot year, and in 2025, we anticipate up to 16 communities participating.
At this time, we are planning for in person staff training. Training will be in Winnipeg, Jan 8 – 11, 2025 not including travel days.
Youth leaders plus one supervisor/recreation coordinator will attend training sessions that will provide training as leaders and develop skills they can use to create positive change in the communities through physical activity, creative arts and sport, and through the implementation of an eight - ten (8 -10) week after school program for children ages 5 – 12 years. Youth leaders will participate in a variety of interactive workshops and activities that will prepare them to implement their Winter Youth Programs, a project aimed at improving the lives of children and youth in their communities.
At the conclusion of the training week, participants will be fully prepared, confident, excited and skilled to return to their home communities to deliver quality winter after school programs. This includes activity plans, equipment and arts/crafts/snack check lists, registration forms and promotional material.
