FACILITIES TRAINING

Recreational facilities are crucial to providing recreational and sports programming in communities to enhance the quality of life and well-being of communities in Nunavut, without them communities suffer.

Facilities provide residents with a safe and accessible space to engage in physical activity supporting long-term health and reducing the strain on healthcare resources in addition to contributing to mental and emotional well-being.

Facilities act as hubs where people can gather for events, group activities, or simply to unwind, creating opportunities for individuals to connect, share experiences, and provide mutual support.

RPAN, with the support of Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation and the GN Sport and Rec Division in partnership with the Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel (AARFP) will offer facility training for operators in communities to help ensure the sustainability and operation of recreation facilities across the Territory.

For 2025-2026, Facilities training will be offered in-person and virtually
